This site, www.chelsealeathers.com, is run by Chelsea Leathers, an individual. This policy explains what personal information is collected when you use the site, buy the book, contact Chelsea, or sign up for the newsletter.
What we collect
- When you contact us: your name, email address, the topic you choose, and your message.
- When you sign up for the newsletter or free wallpapers: your email address and the page you signed up from.
- When you buy: payments are processed by Stripe. We receive your name, email address, and the details of your order. Your card details are entered into Stripe’s secure payment fields and go directly to Stripe; we do not receive or store your full card number.
- When you visit: like most websites, our hosting provider records basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you request, so the site can be delivered and protected.
How we use it
- to deliver your order and help with any problems,
- to reply to your messages,
- to send the newsletter and free wallpapers, only if you signed up for them, and
- to keep the site secure and working.
We do not sell your personal information.
Services we use
Some of your information is handled by trusted service providers on our behalf:
- Netlify hosts this site, receives contact form submissions, and stores newsletter signups and order records.
- Stripe processes payments.
- Resend delivers our email: order confirmations and download links, and the newsletter and free wallpapers.
- Google Fonts supplies the site’s typefaces, so your browser connects to Google when pages load.
Each of these services has its own privacy policy that governs how it handles information.
Cookies
This site does not set its own advertising or analytics cookies. Stripe’s payment fields and other services listed above may use cookies needed to work; see their policies for details.
Campaign tags (utm parameters) from the link you arrived on are kept in your browser’s session storage for that visit only and attached to an order to show which posts lead to sales; no analytics cookies are involved.
Newsletter
You will only receive the newsletter if you sign up. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter email, or by contacting us.
Newsletter emails (Notes from Chelsea) use open and click tracking from our email provider, Resend, so we can count how many people read each one and which links they click. Order confirmations and download emails are not tracked.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above, or as required by law:
- Order records: 7 years, for tax purposes.
- Newsletter sign-ups: until you unsubscribe.
- Messages sent through the contact form: 2 years.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law. To make a request, email hello@chelsealeathers.com or use the contact page.
Children
This site is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new “Last updated” date.
